Are Dotty Fish shoes approved by Podiatrists?

We have recently had our shoes tested by The London Podiatry Centre in order to see the science behind our philosophy. We have long believed in the benefits of soft soled shoes being the best choice in footwear, especially for those first few pairs of shoes in the early years. We know that barefoot is best especially for babies and young children, however, this isn’t always possible in today’s world. Our shoes provide the protection delicate little feet need while not inhibiting growth or development at all.

At The London Podiatry Centre, they used a sophisticated 8-camera Vicon system as well as a Tekscan pressure mat to determine how a toddler walks with our shoes on and the results have been overwhelmingly positive. Natural normal foot function was not affected and in many instances gait and balance improved when wearing the soft soled leather shoes. Dotty Fish has been very proud to be working with such a leading specialist clinic in this area. It has been a privilege to have them analyse the data from the testing and say that Dotty Fish shoes are one of the best choices in footwear for a baby or toddler.

Why does the website look different?

We have recently updated our website to make it faster to load and easier to navigate. Our new look website has some useful filter options which will make finding exactly what you are looking for much easier. While we have tested this site extensively occasional bugs may appear. If this does happen, please contact us at customerservice@dottyfish.com and let us know. We will then be able to investigate the issue and get it fixed as quickly as possible. This not only helps us, but it also helps our customers, ensuring you have the best experience on our site as possible.

What changes has Dotty Fish made for GDPR?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. In order to comply with the new regulations, we have updated our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy. At Dotty Fish we are making sure we keep your data even safer. I received a Dotty Fish product as a gift and it’s the wrong size, can I exchange it?

Yes, if you have received a Dotty Fish product for your little one as a gift and it’s unsuitable in size or design, please email customerservice@dottyfish.com and we can exchange it for you. Unfortunately refunds can only be refunded to the original payment method within 30 days of purchase.

I’ve ordered the wrong size can I exchange them?

If you find that the size of the item(s) you have ordered don’t quite fit, we offer a hassle free exchange. To return an item or items please contact customer services via email at customerservice@dottyfish.com. If you wish to exchange your item(s) we ask that you enclose a note in your parcel stating the design and size that you wish to exchange your item(s) for. Once we have received your return, we will be happy to check available stock and exchange them for a different design or size. Please note that you are responsible for your own postage when returning an order to us.

My order hasn’t arrived what should I do?

For UK orders: if your order hasn’t arrived within 5 working days, please contact customerservice@dottyfish.com and we will look into this further for you.

For international orders: If your order hasn’t arrived within 10 working days, please contact customerservice@dottyfish.com and we will look into this further for you.

Is your online shopping secure?

Absolutely! Your credit card information and personal data is secure when shopping on the Dotty Fish website. Our website uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology. This renders information unreadable should anyone attempt to intercept it.

To verify your connection is secure, check the bottom of your browser window in your status bar. You should see an unbroken key or a closed lock. This tells you the SSL is active and your information is secure.

Data protection is something Dotty Fish take seriously. All your personal data is secure at all times. We will never pass your details on to a third party. Our newsletter is never sent out without you signing up for it and you can unsubscribe at any time.

How do the shoes come presented?

All our soft soled leather baby shoes are deliverd in an organza bag with a ribbon tie. They usually fit through the letter box and make an ideal gift.

Our premium Shimmy Shoe range of flexible rubber soled shoes are packaged in a lovely shoe box with a ribbon handle. Inside the box they are protected with tissue paper so they arrive in perfect condition.

How can I care for my shoes?

All our soft soled leather baby shoes are made from genuine leather and like all leather products should never be put in the washing machine! We suggest spot cleaning them with a damp sponge or even a baby wipe. You can brush the suede soles with a suede brush which will get rid of any surface dirt. Avoid using harsh chemicals on any of our leather shoes.

Our suede slippers can be cleaned with a suede brush to loosen any surface dirt and brush up the pile. They can also be spot cleaned with a damp sponge.

The Shimmy Shoe range is made from premium grade leather and like our other shoes can be spot cleaned using a soft sponge or baby wipe. It is best to avoid using harsh chemicals as this will damage the leather. The rubber soles can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

As all our shoes are made from baby safe leather specialist leather cleaners can be used if you prefer.

Can I send my parcel as gift?

Yes! Our products all make excellent gifts. Items can be gift wrapped for you and a special message can be added so it is personalised.  There is a lovely choice of gift wrap options available on our website.  If you would like us not to send the invoice then please state that when placing the order. We will make sure it isn’t included into the package!

Why am I being charged VAT?

All the items for sale on this website are exempt of VAT in the UK. However, we are liable for VAT in the following EU countries: Austria, France, Germany and Italy, Spain, Poland and Czech Republic. If you are ordering items to be sent to these countries, the relevant rate of VAT will be added to your order. VAT is calculated on both the items being purchased and delivery costs. All costs are calculated at the basket, after selecting your shipping destination, and can be reviewed throughout the checkout. Please contact us at customerservice@dottyfish.com if you have any questions regarding VAT charges.

Terms and Conditions for Mystery Box Prize Draw

  1. Competition is open to anyone aged 18 and over who updates their settings and continues to receive Dotty Fish’s Newsletter after 25/05/2018. Competition closes at 12am on 24th May 2018. Winner will be chosen at random and will be entitled to 6 monthly prizes starting in June 2018 and ending in November 2018
  2. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  3. Only one entry will be accepted per person.
  4. Closing date for entry will be 12am on the 24th May 2018
  5. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  6. Dotty Fish reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the even of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any other even outside the companies control.
  7. The prize is as stated a monthly mystery box for 6 months. The prizes are not transferable, and no cash equivalent is available.
  8. The winner will be chosen at random and a winner will be announced on the 1st June 2018.
  9. Winner will be contacted via the email address used to enter this competition. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
