WELCOME TO DOTTY FISH
Welcome to Dotty Fish! I’m Helen Chapman, founder of Dotty Fish and mum of two. I know how difficult it can be to find baby shoes that look lovely, stay on little feet and don’t cost a fortune. That’s why I started the business — to create stylish, practical and affordable shoes that parents and little ones love.
It all began in 2006, when my son, who wasn’t yet one, was given a beautiful but very expensive pair of baby shoes. I loved them and wanted to buy more, but struggled to find anything similar at an affordable price. So, I set out to create my own, and my first range of baby shoes, Shimmy Shoes, was born.
As the business grew, I introduced a more affordable range called My Twinkle Toes in 2009, at a time when many families were feeling the squeeze. Our growing online business was even featured on ITV’s Tonight programme.
Over the years, we’ve added new designs, styles and products, eventually becoming Dotty Fish. Today, we’re still a family-run British brand, creating comfortable, practical and affordable footwear for little feet — with the same values that started it all back in 2006.
Supporting Little Feet Every Step of the Way
Today, Dotty Fish creates comfortable, flexible footwear designed with growing feet in mind. From those early crawling days and precious first steps to more confident little adventures, our shoes are lightweight, flexible and non-restrictive, with a wide toe shape that gives little toes plenty of room to spread, wiggle and move naturally.
Barefoot principles are at the heart of our footwear. By allowing little feet to move naturally, our shoes help support balance, coordination and healthy foot development as little ones grow and explore. Our soft sole shoes have also been tested and approved by The London Podiatry Centre, giving parents extra reassurance when choosing shoes for those important early stages.
We’re always working on new designs and products, while staying true to what matters most to us — creating affordable, practical and fun footwear for little feet!

It was such an exciting moment for our small business and a real milestone in our journey. So much has changed since those early days — from new designs and growing collections to becoming Dotty Fish — but our passion for creating affordable, practical and lovely footwear for little feet has stayed the same.
