Here at Dotty Fish we know how celebrating special occasions can mean so much and our soft leather baby shoes, children’s slippers, bibs and other accessories all make lovely presents for those special little ones in your life. We have several gift options and can make sending your gifts simple by taking care of gift wrapping for you. Our new video gift message can also be added which makes your parcel that little bit more special and personal.
We know that giving a gift in person is always special but not always possible and so we have a lovely new Video Messaging Service that allows you to record a short video (about 2 minutes) that gets sent with your gift and costs just £1.49. This includes a gift message card as well as your personal video which makes sure your gift is that much more special when it is opened and it couldn’t be simpler to do.
You select the video message option at basket and once your order is complete we will prompt you to record your message. This is can be done on most devices but if you are not ready to record your message there and then we will include the link in with your order confirmation email. Your video message will have a unique code which is written on a lovely You Have a Message card that is included with your parcel. Once they receive there gift they can go and watch your recording and even have the chance to send you a little video back of your lovely gift in action.
You can include a written gift message as well as gift wrap options too at basket or you can simply send the video message. Either way your parcel will be sent out using our lovely sustainable packaging. If you would like to know more about how the video message works or you have questions we have more information below.
Gift wrap can be selected at basket, and is available on all products at a cost of £3.49, which will be shown in your Basket and at Checkout. We have a selection of coloured tissue paper with matching ribbon and were possible all items are put inside a lovely little box. Our team will carefully wrap all items together with care and attention. If you want items to be wrapped separately please add this to your order notes at Checkout. A lovely gift card will be put in with your parcel and we will automatically remove any pricing or payment information from the order.
Our gift boxes are limited in size and usually fit a few items. We always take extra care to make sure that your parcel is packaged up beautifully with the coloured tissue paper of your choice. We wrap each box in white pearlised paper and finish it with your choice of colourful ribbon. If you have selected more items than will fit in one box our team will ensure that your gift is packaged up to look lovely and so it arrives in good condition. Unfortunately we only have one gift box size although all gift sent out always look lovely.
Our shoes and accessories make great gifts for new babies, first birthday’s, christenings and Christmas. They are usually small enough to fit through the letter box and don’t need a signature. All Dotty Fish shoes come packaged in a drawstring organza bag and come delivered in our sustainable packaging. Our Shimmy Shoe range come in a cardboard box and our bibs are wrapped in tissue paper. If you are sending a gift we can remove all pricing information from your order, simply tick the free gift message option at basket.

How will the person I’m sending the gift too know I have recorded them a message?
A You Have a Message card will be sent with your gift notifying them about your recorded message. This card will have the link and unique code needed to watch their personal video message. If you have selected a gift message as part of your gift options with will also be written on this card.
Do I have to record my message straight away?
No, if you’re not ready to record it at the checkout don’t worry, we will send a link in your order confirmation email. Although you do need to record your message as soon as possible so that the order is not delayed. It needs to be done within 48 hours of your order if you use a standard service. If you are selecting special next day delivery, then make sure to do it as soon as possible so there are no delays to the order.
Can I record my message again?
Yes, when you go to record your message you can watch it back and retry if you don’t like it. Once you have accepted the message though you can’t change it. Don’t worry though your message will be loved and appreciated by those special people you are sending your gift to.
How long does my video message need to be?
You have about 2 minutes of video but it can be as short as you like. It can be just you or a few people in the video and you can be as creative as you like. This is your personal message and so you are the star of the show.
I don’t want to do a video message
That’s okay you can also upload a picture or just type a message.
What happens if I forget to record my message?
If you have forgotten to record your message a pre-recorded message from us will be sent on your behalf. You can watch this message here. It is not as special as a personal message so do try and record your own message.
How long can the video be viewed for?
Your video message can be viewed for a few months before it is deleted from the system, however, the message can be downloaded by the recipient and kept for as long as they like.
Can a stranger access my video?
Your video is accessed using a unique code written on the card sent out with your git, so it is unlikely to be viewed by anyone but the recipient.
What personal information do you hold?
The process is fully compliant with the latest GDPR rules and we do not use your personal information for anything but the stated purposes of sharing your message with your recipient.
